Frank Sinatra - On A Clear Day (You Can See Forever) (Strangers In The Night)
On a clear day,
rise and look around you,
and you'll see who you are.
On a clear day,
how it will astound you
That the glow of your feelings outshines every star.
You will follow every mountain,
sea and shore,
You will see from far and near a world you've never seen before.
On a clear day,
on a clear day,
you can see forever,
and ever, and ever more.
Cherry Poppin' Daddies 9/30/93: 'Come Back to Me' (6 of 22) (02:45)
song from the 1965 musical 'On A Clear Day You Can See Forever', which was featured on the band's
sophomore album 'Rapid City Muscle Car'. It's somewhat rude to include the setlist in each video
description, so folk looking for a specific song won't get 22 extra videos in their search results.

Thank you for posting this. I used it in my class as part of our discussion of FHA, issues of tolerance, white ethnic immigrants, etc. The film is also featured in book by well known historian Roediger, called Working Toward Whiteness.

This clip of film made during 1945 was to highlight the diversity of the country. The man who directed it, Albert Maltz, was later imprisoned as one of the Hollywood Ten, because he went to a "Communist" meeting. Sinatra was called in front of HUAC (the House UnAmerican Activities Committee) and lost his recording contract. His career was gone until From Here to Eternity. When the blowhards try to claim the mantle of patriotism, remember it is diversity that makes us strong and has kept us free

The film itself is out of copyright, but copyright is claimed in the songs and Youtube had taken down another version of the film containing the two song performances. I decided to to re-upload the film without the songs becuase the message of the film still comes through without them.

I was a projectionist in my youth and ran this movie short. It made a profound impression on me. In this movie, Sinatra sings "The House I live in." In this version the song was missing, Why? It's vital.
